During a performance at the Colorado State Fair on Saturday night (August 24), Scotty McCreery brought his show to an immediate halt not even one full song into his set, after he apparently witnessed someone in the crowd hit a woman. During his opening song, ‘It Matters to Her’, the country star stopped singing in order to call out the alleged assault. In fan-captured videos of the incident, McCreery can be heard calling out into the microphone while he gestures at the fan in question, “Hey, hey, hey, right here. That’s a lady you just hit, sir. Absolutely not. Who just hit the lady?” McCreery then proceeded to call security in order to get the abusive fan ejected from the show, while also checking to make sure the victim was doing okay. “Y’all let the cop know who hit the lady. That’s absolutely unacceptable. “Whoever you are, that’s the definition of a coward, hitting a lady. Get the heck outta here, man.” McCreery is currently on the road in support of his new album, Rise & Fall. (Holler)
