Music fans are speculating that Kenny Chesney will soon announce a headlining residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere. The rumour was fueled by a video shared on the Sphere’s social media accounts on Wednesday (Jan. 15), featuring the Vegas venue lit up by graphics showing an old blue chair sitting on a beach with an acoustic guitar and a cowboy hat leaning against it. Sphere’s Instagram captioned their post with only a side-eyes emoji, “👀.” Chesney famously recorded the song “Old Blue Chair” for his chart-topping, 5x-platinum selling 2004 album, When the Sun Goes Down. In 2025, the country superstar released the album, Be As You Are (Songs From an Old Blue Chair), whose cover art featured Chesney seated on a beach in an old blue chair. Chesney even launched his branded line of Blue Chair Bay rum in 2013. Chesney will make a major announcement during his appearance on The Today Show on Thursday (January 16), followed up by a stint on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon later that day. (Billboard)
