Creed‘s successful Summer of ’99 reunion tour hit the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville on Tuesday night. Creed surprised their Tennessee fans by bringing out country superstar Hardy to join them on the title track of their 2001 Billboard No. 1 album, Weathered. “It wouldn’t be a Nashville show unless we had some surprises, right?” frontman Scott Stapp asked the crowd. “I’m gonna say this because it sounds funny — me and this next artist slipped into each other’s DMs and we started talking and we became kinda friends. I said, ‘Hey man, when you’re in town, wanna jam?’ He said, ‘Man, I would love to.’ So, hey, let’s give it up for HARDY!”

Stapp led the way on the first few lines of the first verse before Hardy joined in, with the two singers belting out the chorus together. Stapp and Hardy gave each other a warm embrace after the song, as the crowd roared their approval of the surprising duet. Creed shared footage of the collaboration in an Instagram reel, captioning the post, “#Nashville, you were amazing! Shout out to our brother @Hardy for joining us on #Weathered!” (Loudwire)
