Clint Black Holds Contest to Raise Awareness For Rett Syndrome

Clint Black made a young man’s dream come true and raised money for a charity close to his heart while doing it. The “A Better Man” singer held a contest—the Clint Black Dream Recording Session Contest—through an online fundraising platform, Chideo.

Chideo is a content-driven fundraising platform that offers exclusive and original videos. The contest was a nationwide competition between more than 400 country music fans competing for America’s vote in the hopes of winning a chance to record an original song with Clint.

Clint took over the mentoring role and worked in the studio with Nashville’s finest musicians. “We all have something we can share and teach,” said Clint in a statement.

The contest effort raised money for Rettsyndrome.org—a cause close to Clint’s heart. Clint lost his niece to the disease. Rett syndrome is a unique postnatal neurological disorder that is first recognized in infancy and seen almost always in girls, but can be rarely seen in boys.
