Friday, Morgan Wallen released his new song “I Ain’t Coming Back” with Post Malone and it’s already #1 on the iTunes country chart, and the all-genre iTunes chart. Their song, “I Had Some Help”, was such a huge hit last year, so it’s not surprising to see “I Ain’t Coming Back” jump to #1 so quickly. Currently there are SEVEN songs from Morgan’s new album, “I’m the Problem” occupying the top seven spots on the iTunes country chart. The other six are: “I’m the Problem”. . . “Just in Case” . . . “I’m a Little Crazy” . . . “Love Somebody” . . . “Smile” . . . and “Lies Lies Lies”. He also has five of the top 10 spots in the all-genre chart. His new album doesn’t even come out until May 16th. And with 37 songs on it, he’s bound to set every country record known to man.
The NFL draft takes place this Thursday to Saturday in Green Bay, Wisconsin. And Brad Paisley has just been tapped to close out the festivities with a big show after the last pick of the draft. Jelly Roll always gives a great interview. He’s honest, and is never afraid to share. But maybe this time he shared a little bit too much. He and Luke Bryan were on the “Jennifer Hudson Show” the other day, and she asked them a question. “What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you while performing?” And before Luke could say a word, Jelly said, “I pooped myself one time. I did. I’m sorry. I was confident it was all air. It was not.” Jennifer and the audience were mostly horrified, but Luke couldn’t help but laugh. Then Jelly said, “I watched this crowd go from completely loving me, to being completely out.”Luke then said, “That’s why we love him right there.” And then Jelly asked “Did I overshare again?”
The Academy of Country Music just announced they’ll be honoring Brooks & Dunn during the “Play Something Country” gala the night before the ACMs take place. The celebration of Brooks & Dunn goes down on May 7th, at The Star in Frisco, Texas. And the 60th annual ACM Awards will take place there the next night. There will be a silent auction with all proceeds benefitting ACM Lifting Lives, which focusing on mental health initiatives in the country music industry. There will also be performances by Eric Church . . . Cody Johnson . . . Megan Moroney . . . Keith Urban . . . and Lainey Wilson. They’ll all be doing renditions of Brooks & Dunn’s biggest hits. And then, the following night they’re nominated for Duo of the Year at the ACM Awards . . . again. They’ve already won Duo of the Year 16 times.
