The Grammys were on last night and Beyoncé dominated the country section of the awards, even though she said that “Cowboy Carter” was NOT a country album. The Grammys seem to disagree. But to be fair, Beyoncé also won ALBUM OF THE YEAR for “Cowboy Carter” as well. Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus won the award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, too. And a lot of fans also did NOT like the fact that they beat out Morgan Wallen and Post Malone. Here are the Grammy results in Country’s top four categories:
1. Best Country Song goes to . . .”The Architect” by” by Kacey Musgraves.
2. Best Country Album goes to . . . “Cowboy Carter” by Beyoncé.
3. Best Country Solo Performance goes to . . . Chris Stapleton with “It Takes a Woman”.
4. Best Country Duo/Group Performance goes to . . . Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus with “II Most Wanted”.
Shaboozey was also up for best New Artist, but the award went to Chappell Roan.
if you’re a big country star, like Morgan Wallen, and still haven’t won a Grammy . . . have no fear. There are plenty of huge country artists that have never won a Grammy. Here are a few:
1. Dierks Bentley wins the award for the most country nominations with zero wins. He’s been nominated 15 times.
2. Martina McBride has been nominated 14 times and never won.
3. Jamey Johnson has been nominated 10 times with no wins.
4. Eric Church is also 0 for 10.
5. Luke Combs is now he is 0 for 9 after
6. Blake Shelton is now 8 times, with nothing to show for it.
7. Toby Keith is 0 for 7.
8. Kenny Chesney is 0 for 6.
9. And Thomas Rhett and Jason Aldean are both 0 for 5.
“Taste of Country” ran a headline on Friday claiming Darius Rucker had ditched the U.S. and permanently relocated to England. (!!!) But then a day later, they immediately walked it back. He posted on social media Saturday morning to clear things up, and it sounds like much more of a temporary thing. “I’ve been a traveling musician all my life. I’m living in London while working on some new music and playing some shows.” He added that living there has always been on his bucket list. But, “Don’t get it twisted, y’all. Nothing will ever replace the Carolinas, and it is still home.”
Jelly Roll’s weight loss transformation is still underway, and he’s making incredible progress. He just posted a video where he’s walking and reminiscing about the first 5K he did. Here’s what Jelly had to say, “I couldn’t walk at the time, at all hardly. I was over 500 pounds. And I did it y’all. And it was one of the most gratifying experiences. The man you see almost a year later is 120 or 130 something pounds lower.” Then he asked, “And guess what I’m doing right now? I’m training for the next 5K, baby!” His buddy, Bert Kreischer, then pops into frame and they give all of the details for the next 5K they’re going to run together. Luke Combs is on tour down in Australia, and a fan got some footage of a middle-aged man ROCKIN OUT to “When It Rains It Pours”. The video went viral, and even Luke saw it. He commented, “What a legend!!!” That LEGEND might not be on TikTok, but apparently his son is. A kid named Tristan commented, “He is my Dad, and he’s your biggest fan, and he wants to know if he could get an autograph.” No response on that yet.
John Erwin, the voice of He-Man in the ’80s, passed away at the age of 88. In the ’70s, he was also the voice of Morris, the “finicky” cat in the 9 Lives cat food commercials.
