Jelly Roll just finished his epic Beautifully Broken Tour. It was 58 sold-out arenas over 13 weeks. But before his final show Tuesday night, he posted on TikTok and said, quote, “Y’all know I have a very unhealthy relationship with social media. I have a very unhealthy relationship with phones . . . I’m taking a break. “It’s been a crazy couple of years and I love y’all so much. I’m throwing this phone out the window tonight. I’m going to go phoneless for a few months.” And when Jelly said “phoneless”, he really meant it. There’s video of him on a bridge in Nashville throwing it into a river. He was even Facetiming Bunnie Xo from the phone as it splashed down. Luckily there wasn’t a police boat down there or it would have been another Morgan Wallen chair-gate situation.
Shaboozey performed at the halftime show of the Chicago Bears / Detroit Lions game on Thanksgiving Day. And he had a fun six-minute set, featuring his biggest hits. But NFL fans began trolling the Bears, saying that Shaboozey was on the field longer than their offense was in the first half. The Lions were up 16 to 0 at that point, and were dominating the time of possession 23 minutes to SEVEN. So technically the Bears offense was on the field for longer than Shaboozey, but not by much. One comment said, “Someone pour me a double shot of Whiskey . . . [signed] Shaboozey and Bears fans.” And another posted a short video of Shaboozey walking around the field while singing, and it said, “Total yards . . . Bears: 5, Shaboozey: 7.” Fans seemed to love Lainey Wilson’s performance during the Cowboys / Giants game. And she even had a surprise appearance from Jelly Roll.
Dolly Parton was just named the Greatest Country Artist of All Time by Billboard. Here’s what she had to say when she found out, “I just learned that ‘Billboard’ magazine just released their list of Country Music’s Greatest Artist of All Time, and they have my name sitting at the top, can you believe that? Now when I was a little girl, I would sit around the radio and listen to the Grand Ole Opry, and hearing all those great big stars like Hank Williams, and Kitty Wells, and Johnny Cash . . . and I dreamed of what my life could actually become as well.” She closed it out by thanking her fans, and saying, “I take none of this for granted. So, thank you for giving me the opportunity . . . to see my dreams come true.”
Cody Johnson was brave enough to get a tattoo on the bottom of his foot. He had the artist tattoo a simple LINE on the bottom of his foot. It references a lyric in the Waylon Jennings song “I’ve Always Been Crazy”, which goes, “I’ve always been different with one foot over the line.” Cody told the story during a video “tour” of the tattoos across his body, which included ink on his chest, back, arms, hands, and also that one on the bottom of his foot.
Dasha’s makeup mishap at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She did her song “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” and had bright red lipstick on. She mashed her mic against her mouth so hard, her whole chin was red. She reposted the video and said, “Today I learned a lesson about performing in the rain.”
