Luke Bryan was asked about his career. He mentioned how surprising it is that so many fans hate his tight jeans. Luke said, “My thing was tight jeans. You wouldn’t imagine me wearing tight jeans on stage, how much that [ticks] people off.” Someone said, “That’s because you’re handsome. That’s part of the problem. You’re a good-looking guy. Up there with tight jeans.” And Luke said, “Shaking that [butt].”
Zach Top is, quote, “Not on socials” . . . so it makes sense if he misses the news on occasion. But it must be strange to find out that you were nominated for a CMA Award because you got a “congratulations” text from a friend. No big deal, Zach is just up for New Artist of the Year against some of the most popular artists out there right now, like: Megan Moroney . . . Shaboozey . . . Nate Smith . . . Mitchell Tenpenny . . . and Bailey Zimmerman. Here’s what Zach had to say, “Somebody just texted me, ‘congratulations.’ So I texted back and was like, ‘Thanks. For what?’ And then they sent me the screenshot from Instagram saying I was nominated.” And maybe it’s the craziness of life on the road that gets in the way, too. He also mentioned how hard it is to be a travelling musician. Zach said, “I never wake up in the same town. I wake up somewhere else. “I’ve got to figure out where I am the next morning. So, there’s a lot of changes for sure, and I’m grateful for a lot of them. There’s a lot of them that I’d rather live without, you know . . . kind of makes me miss the way I grew up.” But at least it’s not all for nothing. Zach is one of the brightest up-and-coming talents in the Country world.
Pre-sale tickets for next year’s Two Step Inn Festival go on sale today. It’s set for April 5th and 6th in Georgetown, Texas, near Austin. They bill it as the “world’s largest outdoor honky tonk.” It’s the third year they’ve done it. The Day One headliners are Alan Jackson and Miranda Lambert. Then Sturgill Simpson and Lynyrd Skynyrd will headline Day Two. Around 30 other acts will also perform. Day One also has Ernest . . . Eli Young Band . . . Diamond Rio . . . Flatland Cavalry . . . Gavin Adcock . . . and Diplo under his country alias, “Thomas Wesley”. Day Two includes Ryan Bingham . . . Treaty Oak Revival . . . Shane Smith & the Saints . . . Ole 60 . . . and Nelly.
Maren Morris and her ex Ryan Hurd BOTH released new singles today. Maren’s new song is “People Still Show Up”, and Ryan’s is called “This Party Sucks”. It would be kinda funny if both songs were about their relationship . . . like THEIR side of the story . . . but there’s no indication they are.
