Toby Keith’s life and legacy were honored in a two-hour show on Wednesday called, “Toby Keith: American Icon”.  All of the big stars in Country music participated in it, and paid their respects to Toby and his family. (The special was shot on July 29th at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and they just aired it on NBC.) Here are the best moments:

1.  Listening to Toby sing the last vocal recording of his life.  Toby sang, “Ships That Don’t Come In”, which was from Hardy’s tribute album to Joe Diffie.  He still sounded so good.

2.  Lainey Wilson entered on horseback and sang “Beer for My Horses” with Jamey Johnson.

3.  Luke Bryan honored Toby by wearing a cowboy hat given to him by Luke’s late sister.  He sang, “Should’ve Been a Cowboy”.

4.  Jelly Roll got choked up while dedicating “My List” to Toby’s family.

5.  Brantley Gilbert and Hardy rocked the crowd with “How Do You Like Me Now”.

6.  Trace Adkins gave a passionate speech about patriotism, and sang “American Soldier”.

7.  Carrie Underwood sang a great rendition of “A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action”.

8.  And Toby’s daughter Krystal Keith sang “Don’t Let the Old Man In”.  It was a beautiful tribute to her dad.

If you didn’t get a chance to see it, you can find it streaming on Peacock.

Vince Gill admitted that he has never sent a text message in his entire life and I have so many questions. Does he just not have a cell phone?  Because if you don’t have a cell phone, it’s a lot easier to go through your life without sending a text. Or even better, what if he actually has a cell phone and sees all the texts coming through, but has never responded to any of them.  Vince said recently, “I’ve never sent a text.  I am the most non-tech guy that has ever walked the Earth.  I love to talk to people, I’m pretty old-school . . .”I don’t understand how it all works, but everyone’s having a pretty good time with it, so I’m good.” It’s gotta be pretty cool to be like, yeah, I’m never going to text.  But, “you do you.”  Thanks for not judging the rest of us, Vince.  Pretty cool of you.

Chris Stapleton is iconic now, but, fans used to mistake him for other musicians all the time. He was on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” back in May and shared “The first time I ever went to the Grammys, I was in the line . . . Some guy just started losing his mind. “He’s like ‘Man, I love your music so much’.  And I was in a band called the Steel Drivers at the time . . . nobody knew who we were at the moment.  He just kept going on and on and I was like, ‘Man, you don’t even know who I am, do you?'”Then the guy said, “yeah, you’re in Lynyrd Skynyrd, aren’t ya?’  I’m like, ‘No, that’s not me but thank you.'”He also said that fans get him and Jamey Johnson confused a lot, too.

Shania Twain wants her own bar in downtown Nashville. She’s partnering with Gavin DeGraw for some kind of rebrand of his Nashville Underground joint on Lower Broadway. The five-story bar opened in 2018, and it’s morphed into more of a nightclub over the years.  No other details for now, so stay tuned. Gavin was Shania’s opener for a string of shows back in 2015, so they’ve known each other a while.

Sandra Bullock is on crutches.  But she hasn’t said why.

There’s a new Gary Coleman documentary on Peacock.  It’s called “Gary”.

Bebe Rexha is 35.

Andy Roddick is 42.  Retired tennis

Cameron Diaz is 52.

Ben Jones is 83.  Cooter on “The Dukes of Hazzard

Warren Buffett is 94.
