When officials first announced that they were investigating Matthew Perry’s death . . . and where he got the ketamine that killed him . . . it was unclear if anything would actually come of it. But it was just announced that FIVE PEOPLE have been charged, including Matthew’s live-in personal assistant. All of them played roles in Matthew’s addiction to ketamine, which he was apparently using both as a therapy AND in extreme, anesthesia-level amounts. Matthew’s 59-year-old assistant Kenneth Iwamasa has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing a death. Two doctors were also charged: Salvador Plasencia of Santa Monica . . . and Mark Chavez of San Diego. The two doctors discussed Matthew’s desire for ketamine in a text exchange together last September, one month before he died. Plasencia asked Chavez, quote, “I wonder how much this moron will pay . . . Let’s find out.” Plasencia also taught the assistant how to inject the ketamine into Matthew . . . and told Chavez that process was, “like a bad movie.” Those two “doctors” provided Matthew with about 20 vials of ketamine in the month leading up to his death . . . for $55,000 in cash. But that might not have been the ketamine that killed him. The fourth person charged was an acquaintance of Matthew’s named Erik Fleming, who reached out to a major underground seller known as the “ketamine queen” to get even MORE ketamine. That person, Jasveen Sangha, was the fifth person charged. She knew that ketamine could be fatal. In fact, in 2019, a man overdosed on ketamine that she provided. Afterward, a family member sent a text to her . . . saying, “The ketamine you sold my brother killed him. It’s listed as the cause of death.” After that, prosecutors say the “ketamine queen” Googled, “Can ketamine be listed as a cause of death.” (Yes, it can.) Over two weeks, she sold approximately 50 vials of ketamine to Matthew for around $11,000 in cash. She provided them through the acquaintance, who coordinated the sales with the assistant. On October 28th of last year, the assistant injected Matthew with at least three shots of ketamine using syringes provided by the “moron” doctor. Matthew was found unresponsive in his pool later that day. Despite all these charges, Matthew’s death was ruled an accidental overdose . . . from the “acute effects of ketamine.” A rep for the DEA says, quote, “Matthew Perry’s journey began with unscrupulous doctors who abused their position of trust because they saw him as a payday. And it ended with street dealers who sold him ketamine in unmarked vials.”
Disney’s 1991 animated classic, “Beauty and the Beast”, tops a list of musical movies with the best songs. It’s followed by “The Lion King” and “Mary Poppins”.
If a song reaches Diamond status that means it has sold 10 million copies. And up until recently there were only eight Country songs to hit this plateau. Well now that number is 10. Luke Combs’ song “Beautiful Crazy” already went Diamond in June of last year, but he just added TWO MORE songs to that impressive list: “When It Rains It Pours” and “Hurricane”. That means Luke is the ONLY Country artist in history to have THREE songs reach Diamond. That’s an incredibly successful feat. And just goes to show how much Luke is loved in the Country world. Besides Luke’s three songs, here are the other seven Country songs that reached Diamond:
1. “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line
2. “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X
3. “Body Like a Backroad” by Sam Hunt
4. “Heaven” by Kane Brown.
5. “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker
6. “Need You Now” by Lady A
7. “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton
Here’s some free advice from Jelly Roll: Maybe don’t do mind-bending drugs when you’re opening for Insane Clown Posse. He performed at the Gathering of the Juggalos a few times back when he wasn’t famous yet . . . did mushrooms before he went on stage . . . and thought a guy in the crowd was there to KILL him. “I flipped out. I thought a guy in the crowd was there to kill me. He had his hood up the whole time.” He joked that it probably seemed like he was performing just for that guy. He did a 45-minute set and stared straight at him the whole time.
Post Malone just performed for the first time on the Grand Ole Opry stage, and looks like he had a blast. But he had to be a good boy, because the Opry has a strict “no swearing” rule. And Posty has a bit of a mouth. But he seems to have made it out mostly unscathed. At one point he asked the crowd, “Is everyone having fun tonight? I’m not gonna cuss. I’m having the freaking best time of my life.” But then Posty thought about it, and turned to someone offstage and asked, “Have I cussed already? Just once? Nah, just one is fine, I think. I’m on my best behavior tonight ladies and gentleman.” Apparently his one slip all night was when he was telling the crowd how much he loved them . . . He said, “Keep kicking [butt]”. Saying the A-word is a grievous crime, so I hope the Opry was able to forgive him.
Lainey Wilson’s boyfriend is former football player Devlin Hodges, but everyone calls him “Duck”. Lainey was just being interviewed and was asked what she called him. And Lainey said, “I only call him Duck. ‘Cause his real name is Devlin.” To which she was asked, “So you’ve never called him Devlin?” And Lainey said “I have never called him Devlin, and if I do, it’s cause I’m messing with him. Then she was asked, “So when you’re being romantic and you’re having a serious moment, you don’t go ‘Devlin'”? Lainey then quickly said, “Oh no, I say . . . quack quack.” He commented on the post, where the interview was shared, with only one word . . . And that was, “QUACK”.
