Michelle Pfeiffer will star in a “Yellowstone” sequel series called “Madison”. An expected release date hasn’t been announced, but Kurt Russell and Patrick J. Adams are rumored to be joining.
Here’s the latest on the terrorist plot to bomb a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna, Austria: Three teenagers have been detained. Their ages are 19, 17, and 15. Their plot was uncovered with the help of foreign intelligence agencies, including U.S. authorities. The 19-year-old told police his plan was to, “kill himself and a large number of people,” at either Thursday or Friday’s show. There would have been around 65,000 people at each of the three concerts, plus about 30,000 people outside the stadium. Taylor is scheduled to play five shows at Wembley Stadium from August 15th through the 20th, and the mayor of London says those shows are STILL ON. As we’ve already heard, the two older suspects were connected to ISIS. And a search of the 19-year-old’s home unearthed a stockpile of chemicals, explosive devices, detonators, and counterfeit cash. The 17-year-old had recently started working for a company that provided services to the stadium . . . and cops actually collared him near it. Not much has been revealed about the 15-year-old. On a related note, fans are flooding the streets of Vienna to sing Taylor Swift songs and exchange friendship bracelets.
The other day Morgan Wallen shared a video update of his time on tour and in the background was a snippet of a new song. Well, that apparently wasn’t enough, and he wanted to tease ANOTHER new song . . . and we are all blessed because of it. The newest song is called, “Good to See You Smile” and if you haven’t heard it yet, you’ll want to ASAP. It has some really soulful harmonizing in the background and his voice sounds AWESOME. He’s really showing off his falsetto, too. There’s no word on when he will release it or when his next album will drop . . . But you gotta think since he keeps teasing, that it’ll be pretty soon.
The second annual Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff has been canceled, and no one really knows why. Eric Church, Thomas Rhett, Jon Pardi, and Ashley McBryde were set to headline, and it was supposed to be on August 31st in New Orleans. Last year, it served as a fun event that launched the college football season. Garth Brooks and Lainey Wilson had great sets, and it seemed like a big success. So, it’s kinda strange to have this year’s event called off. There wasn’t much of an explanation either. All Ticketmaster told fans was, quote, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.” This is now the second Country festival to be canceled over Labor Day Weekend. The Kick-Off Country Jam in Panama City Beach Florida, pulled the plug in June. (What gives?)
I wouldn’t say this has NEVER been done before . . . but it definitely should be done MORE often. Jordan Davis is on tour with Mitchell Tenpenny and Ashley Cooke . . . and before one concert he went out into the stands . . . “undercover” . . . and talked to some unsuspecting fans. He would hype Mitchell and Ashley, but say that the headliner was “garbage” . . . and they wouldn’t have to stay for him. He had someone film it . . . and Mitchell posted it online, saying, “How in the hell do you do this? I’m way too scared.”
Jordan’s disguise was pretty minimal . . . he was just wearing a hat and sunglasses . . . so at least a couple of fans recognized him.
Post Malone’s new album is out one week from today, and everyone’s dying to hear the whole thing. Considering how many HUGE names he got to collaborate with him, it’s gotta be awesome, right? Well, at least Hardy thinks so. And to be fair, he’s already heard the whole thing. But he had some nice things to say about the process Posty went through while making “F-1 Trillion”. He said, “Well, that’s what I love about what he did . . . He came to Nashville and said, ‘I wanna do this the way you guys do it.'” Hardy went on to say, “He immersed himself into the songwriting culture of the town and I respect that a lot . . . He didn’t care about who anybody was, he just wanted to get the best song . . . “So he pulled in the best people for that job and made a great record because of it.” That’s pretty high praise. Post Malone was at first an outsider, but the way he made this album was authentic . . . he used the most respected songwriters, and fully immersed himself in Nashville culture. Still, it was pretty funny, and it was surely a GREAT STORY for those fans . . . even if they didn’t catch on in the moment. Refunds for the Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff will be issued back in 2-3 weeks. No other details were given.
Blake Shelton is headed to Sin City. He just announced a residency at Caesar’s Palace starting in 2025. It does help that his bar Ole Red has a new location in Las Vegas, and he’s appeared at Gwen Stefani’s residency before . . . So, he’s no stranger. He said, “It’s been swirling for years now . . . If you’re going to have a stake in Vegas, you got to do a residency . . . and while I’m there, I may end up at Ole Red jumping on that stage one night.” If Blake Shelton just showed up unannounced to the bar you were at, that would be a pretty cool Vegas memory
