Jelly Roll showed up at SummerSlam this past weekend. The WWE had previously announced that he was going to provide some theme songs for the event, but no one expected him to get in the ring. But after you watch Jelly choke-slam Austin Theory, you’ll wonder if this is going to be his new profession. Then when Austin is on the ground, he gives him the John Cena “You Can’t See Me” hand gesture. Then Jelly runs off the rope . . . does a sweet stutter move . . . and jumps down dropping a final punch. The crowd went wild, and Jelly looked like he was right at home.
As you’ve heard by now, Carrie Underwood is returning to “American Idol”, where she’ll join judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. Luke shared one piece of advice with Carrie, it’s that she’s going to need therapy. But not to deal with the contestants . . . it’s to deal with THEM. He says, “She’s probably going to have to double [it] to deal with me and Lionel . . . maybe I should give her . . . do therapists do gift cards, where I can call her therapist and gift her a voucher?”
Taylor Sheridan, creator of “Yellowstone”, has been trying to get Cody Johnson to appear on one of his shows for a long time. In fact, Cody had to turn down a role in season 5 of “Yellowstone” due to scheduling conflicts. Cody said, “We’ve tried a couple times [for ‘Yellowstone’], and my schedule is too busy to set aside the time.” But Taylor might be trying to use Cody in a cowboy movie instead. Cody said, “We’re looking ahead to the future. There’s a few movie things where I’m like, ‘Look if you guys give me the notice, I can make this happen.’”
