Lainey Wilson, reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year, is chill with her demands on her backstage rider. She doesn’t want anything crazy backstage, just some, “Throat coat tea.” And then she said, “I normally ask for a kettle, in case there ain’t like a microwave anywhere near . . . lemon ‘Halls’ coughdrops . . . and probably whiskey, and water.” All that is totally reasonable. She said, She’s a no-frills type of superstar.
During Morgan Wallen’s massive performance this past weekend at MetLife Stadium, he somehow found time to design a fan’s tattoo. Evidently, all you have to do is make a sign that says, “Morgan, can you draw my first tattoo?” And then put an empty box next to it. While onstage, the sign caught Morgan’s eye, so he grabbed it from a fan and then carefully drew her first tattoo design. It said, “Love ya . . . So does God.” And then his initials “M.W.” When he handed her back the sign, she burst into tears. And she already got the tattoo.
Pounding beers with members of the San Francisco 49ers may not have been the highlight of Luke Combs’ show at Levi’s Stadium over the weekend. Just three songs later, during the last song of the night, Luke slipped and fell onstage. He played it off like a champ though, and called himself “safe”, like a baseball umpire.
Lana Del Rey brought out Jelly Roll during her set at the Hangout Festival in Alabama on Friday. They performed a duet cover of “Sweet Home Alabama”, with Lana changing up some of the lyrics. She’s getting ready to join the country scene. Her first country album, “Lasso”, is set to come out sometime in September.
