The ACM Awards went down this past Thursday, and while a lot of country stars were in attendance, it was pretty obvious that most of the biggest stars skipped it. Here are all the stars that weren’t there:
1. Morgan Wallen. He has a tour right now, plus some legal issues that might be on his mind.
2. Luke Combs. He’s also on tour right now
3. Carrie Underwood. She wasn’t nominated for anything, and her residency resumes in Vegas next week.
4. Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks. Both of them co-hosted last year’s ACM Awards, and both opted not to attend this year.
5. Luke Bryan and Keith Urban. Both were not nominated,
6. Megan Moroney. Best New Female Artist. But she’s currently opening up for Kenny Chesney
Randy Travis just released his first single in over a decade, thanks to the use of A.I. He lost his ability to sing a while ago, so it gave all of us the chance to hear his voice again. The internet seems split about this technology. Most think it’s awesome that Randy was able to release a song again, but a lot also worry whether this opens up Pandora’s box to shadier uses. Luke Combs said, “I think that’s about the best use case scenario for what it has the potential to do.” But he is also hesitant as well, saying, “I think it does open the door for, you know, some things that wouldn’t be used in the best way . . . I was super excited to hear that. It sounds incredible. But it is a razor’s edge, for sure.”
Elle King has finally apologized for making a drunken fool of herself during Dolly Parton’s 78th birthday celebration at the Grand Ole Opry back in January. She said she was dealing with something “heavy and traumatic” that she still suffers PTSD from and, “That day, I hadn’t eaten. I hadn’t slept in days, and I was really overwhelmed. I was like a shell of myself.” Elle hand-wrote apologies to both Dolly AND the Opry, and she says Dolly was “really kind” to her. Quote, “She’s just, literally, like proof that angels exist.”
Lee Greenwood’s hit, “God Bless the U.S.A.”, is already turning 40. So, to celebrate the anniversary, his album “American Patriot” will be released on vinyl for the first time. It will feature the iconic anthem, as well as other patriotic songs like “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful”. The record has a red, white, and blue “fireworks” splatter pattern and comes out June 28th . . . just in time for the 4th of July.
Ben Affleck’s wedding ring was back on his hand, just one day after it vanished right in the middle of his marriage drama with Jennifer Lopez.
