A Travis Scott concert last week in Canada damaged a Stanley Cup. Travis performed at the same venue where the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens play.  Well, the bass was so strong that it caused THREE Stanley Cups from the trophy case to fall.  Luckily, only one was damaged. This is the first time that’s happpened.

Yesterday was “Blue Monday”, supposedly the most depressing day of the year.  So here’s something to cheer us all up:  Ranker.com had fans vote on the best “feel good” country songs of all time.  Here are the Top 5. . .

1.  “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks.  (1990)

2.  “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band  (2008)

3.  “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett  (2003)

4.  “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” by Brooks & Dunn  (1991)

5.  “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” by George Strait  (1987)

Craig Counsell is the new manager of the Chicago Cubs . . . but back in his playing days, he had a pretty funky batting stance.  In a new interview, he said he blames that stance on Garth Brooks. Craig’s career was starting out in the late-’90s, when Garth was spending some time at spring training with the San Diego Padres. Craig said he was with the L.A. Dodgers, and was struggling in spring training.  He FINALLY got a hit . . . or THOUGHT he did . . . but Garth was playing left field, and he made a diving catch to rob him of a hit. Craig was released the next day. So from that point onward, he changed to his . . . uh . . . UNCONVENTIONAL stance, and he kept it for most of his career.

You never know what you’re going to find on the internet, and sometimes the weirder something is . . . the more likely it is to go viral.  The latest online oddity is a video of an A.I.-generated version of Hank Hill from “King of the Hill” . . . singing the Morgan Wallen hit “Last Night”.  It’s something.

It took longer than usual, but winter has FINALLY arrived . . . and for most of middle America it’s been super cold, and super snowy.  Country stars in Nashville spent the long weekend playing in the snow. Kane Brown played with his kids in the snow, and used his Polaris RZR to be “the Uber driver of Nashville” . . . Miranda Lambert was brought to tears by the brutal cold as she fed her horses . . . and Kelsea Ballerini went outside in her bikini to use the hot tub.

Blake Shelton took to social media yesterday to reveal that his new Ole Red location in Las Vegas is officially open.  He captioned it, “The moment we’ve all been waiting for . . . Let’s get this party started!”

Lin-Manuel Miranda is 44.  “Hamilton” creator

Albert Pujols is 44.  Los Angeles Angels first baseman.

James Young is 44.  Founding member of the Eli Young Band.

Kate Moss is 50.  Iconic supermodel.

Richard T. Jones is 52.  Sergeant Grey on “The Rookie”.

Sade is 65.  Nigerian singing goddess.  Biggest hits:  “Smooth Operator”, “

Debbie Allen is 74.  Actress-dancer-choreographer who starred on “Fame”, and currently plays Hondo’s mom on “S.W.A.T.” and Dr. Avery’s mom on “Grey’s Anatomy”.  She’s Phylicia Rashad’s sister in real life.

Ronnie Milsap is 81.  Country legend.  Biggest hits:  “Any Day Now” and “Lost in the Fifties Tonight (In the Still of the Night)”.

A.J. Foyt is 89.  Auto racing legend.

Henry Winkler refused to let his daughter do reality TV.  Once, when a producer came to their house, he told him, quote, “I can suggest some really good restaurants, [but] my daughter is not doing your show.” One of the funniest things to come from the show was George Strait’s reaction to the performances. Someone…
