Tim Allen says there’s talk about a “Home Improvement” spinoff. The show originally aired for eight seasons on ABC, from 1991 to 1999. “One of the conversations we’ve had recently is how weird it would be if [the show] would be about the kids’ kids. Like if all of them had children, and I’m a grandparent. ‘Home Re-Improvement’ or something like that.” Tim says he never felt like the story was done. “It never felt right. In the time off, [the cast] got real close where we talked to everybody.”

He was recently asked if he’d ever do a memoir, and he hesitated because of the skeletons in his closet. “It’s something that’s not on my radar. Because if you’re going to do it, you have to go completely all-in. And I think there’s a lot of stuff I wouldn’t want to tell.” He added, quote, “[I] think if I did a memoir, it wouldn’t be full and complete. Maybe down the road, we’ll see. When all the principles are dead, to protect the innocent and the guilty.”

He did a big interview with Jane Pauley on CBS yesterday, and talked about why making the place inclusive is important to him. She asked what he’d say to people who wonder, “Is he with us, or with them?” His answer was, “I’m with love. You [can] come on this ship or not, but love is big enough for all of us.” He added that people think the hardest question in life is, “Why are we down here?” But he thinks it’s a pretty easy one. “We’re down here for each other. That’s why there’s more than just one of us.” She also had him explain the difference between a regular bar and a “honky-tonk.” He said a honky-tonk is bigger and a little more like a dance hall. For everyone who can’t make it the opening this Friday, the first show will be streaming live on Prime Video and Twitch.
