Morgan Wallen parted ways with his mullet. He shaved his head bald. He debuted his new look on Friday in Columbus, Ohio. After performing for a bit he stopped and told the crowd. “Before we [go] any further. I didn’t like my long hair anymore, so I shaved it off.” There are videos making the rounds and even though he’s wearing a ballcap you can see that his head is shaved pretty clean. And his fans are shaken up about it. Comments include, “Morgan Wallen shaved his mullet and suddenly my world is falling apart.” Another wrote, “Finding out Morgan cut his hair off just ruined my night.” Here’s another, “Please don’t talk to me. I’m grieving the loss of Morgan’s mullet.” And another, “Why would Morgan shave his mullet. More importantly, why would he do that to me?” Finally, “I’m going to need bereavement days.”
It’s National Tattoo Removal Day!
Blake Shelton has joked he might have the worst tattoo in country music. He got “deer tracks” around his left forearm, because he’s a hunter. But he drew the design himself, and everyone always thinks they’re ladybugs. In honor of Tattoo Removal Day, here are a few country artists and their interesting tattoo stories . . .
1. Dolly Parton’s got a few but covers them in public. She got them a long time ago to cover up scars. She never shows them off, but there’s a shot of her in a white blouse where you can see what looks like a butterfly on her left arm.
2. Carrie Underwood’s got at least four. They include a flower on her left forearm. She also recently got matching heart tattoos with her sisters and mom. That one’s on her right foot.
3. Garth Brooks got his first tattoo last year and hasn’t shown it off yet, but it’s not small. It’s ivy that stretches from the left side of his chest and back, and down his left arm. It has five names and dates for his mom, his three daughters, and his wife, Trisha Yearwood.
4. Kelsea Ballerini’s got one on her right side that says “Love. love.” But the most obvious ones are on her wrist. One says, “How sweet the sound”. One’s a square inside a circle for her song “Square Peg”. And she recently got one on her wrist for her song “Mountain with a View”.
5. Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean are part owners of the hunting company Buck Commander. So they both got the logo tattooed on their right shoulder. But he’s also got another one you might never see: His wife Caroline’s initials are tattooed on his BACKSIDE, and his initials are on hers.
Blake Shelton did a surprise show at his local Ole Red in Oklahoma on Friday and he brought along his wife Gwen Stefani and her 17-year-old son Kingston Rossdale. Kingston made his live music debut with a surprise solo performance, which ended with a stepson-stepdad hug. Then later Blake brought out Gwen for an acoustic rendition of her No Doubt song, “Don’t Speak”.
Russell Dickerson cut his finger while shotgunning beers during a concert in Ohio on Friday. He posted a clip of the moment on Instagram, and said, “Caught the sharp end of a can.” It’s unclear how soon he realized he was cut, but he then hurled that sharp can into a crowd of people. He also shared a photo of his bloody finger, and said, “Should be fun to play guitar tonight.”
Jelly Roll’s Backroad Baptism Tour stopped in Virginia over the weekend. And while there, he took some time out of his day to visit with inmates at the Chesterfield County Jail. There was some good listening, sharing, and jamming. One inspiring video shows Jelly and the inmates singing “Save Me”.
Zach Bryan brought a special guest out to his show in Minneapolis last week. There’s a video of him introducing former WWE champ Brock Lesnar, who helped him sing “Revival”. Even though the clip is shot from a distance, you can still can that tell Brock is someone you don’t want to mess with.
