For the first time in history, the Top Three positions on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 are country songs. This goes back to 1958 when the chart launched. The three songs are: Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town” at Number One . . . followed by Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” . . . and Luke Combs’ “Fast Car” at #3. Jason’s been on it 40 times, but this is his first stint at the top. His previous high was “Dirt Road Anthem”, which went to Number Seven in 2011.
Kendall Jenner showed up at Chris Stapleton’s gig in Nashville last Friday, and Chris rocked so hard . . . he broke HER shoe. She posted a photo of her vintage high heel after the entire bottom of it broke off. The caption said, “Went too hard. My vintage couldn’t handle it.” She was there with her boyfriend, Bad Bunny. Chris posted a shot of them all hanging out backstage. It looks like she got him to SIGN her broken shoe with a Sharpie.
Chris Janson was just asked how he got Dolly Parton and Slash to be on his track, “21 Forever” – and he said he just ASKED THEM. He said he “always envisioned” Dolly and Slash on the record – and so he asked his producer to reach out to them, and they both said YES. “They’re pros, and they just crushed it.”
Your average Kenny Chesney stadium show will have about 40,000 people hanging on his every word. Contrast that to Kenny doing a popup show recently at Captain Tony’s Saloon in Key West, Florida. Kenny posted a clip yesterday of himself and his acoustic guitar doing “You and Tequila”. He’s wearing shorts, a T-shirt, and a backwards ballcap
Thomas Rhett has a hat for every outfit. His wife Lauren Akins took the time to gather all his hats on the tour bus and sort them by color. He posted a photo of the result, and his collection is quite massive. Cole Swindell commented, “I got one to add to it from yesterday. Looks like you need it.”
Suzanne Somers’ breast cancer returned following her initial diagnosis in 2000. The Three’s Company star and businesswoman, 76, said, “Since I have been taking time off from work, many of you have asked for more details about my health. As you know, I had breast cancer two decades ago, and every now and then it pops up again, and I continue to bat it down. I have used the best alternative and conventional treatments to combat it. This is not new territory for me. I know how to put on my battle gear and I’m a fighter.” Her husband Alan Hamel has been by her side every step of the way.
Cardi B might not get away scot-free with that microphone toss in Las Vegas — she’s now listed as the suspect in a battery. The woman who was struck by Cardi’s mic when she hurled it into the crowd went to Las Vegas Metro PD the next day to report the incident. The mic struck the drink thrower, but ricocheted and also hit another woman standing next to her. Prior to the altercation, Cardi and her DJ had asked the crowd to splash water on her to cool her off in the triple-digit weather — but obviously, she didn’t take kindly to whatever the woman threw later in the show.
