Last year, the people behind the latest “Halloween” trilogy announced they were giving the same treatment to “The Exorcist”. And pretty early on, they announced that Ellen Burstyn was returning to play Chris MacNeil. But nobody said anything about Linda Blair coming back to play her daughter Regan. Until now. Sources say that Linda did show up to reprise her role. But she was reportedly only on the set for a few days, so she doesn’t have a huge part. The producers won’t confirm that Linda’s in the movie. All they’ll say is that she, quote, “served as an advisor.”
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon started sharing a bank account in high school so they’d have money for auditions. On “The Bill Simmons Podcast”, Matt admitted that it was unusual in retrospect, but as long as one of them had money, they knew the power wouldn’t get shut off. He said, quote, “I remember after doing ‘Geronimo’, I probably had like 35 grand in the bank. I was like ‘We’re good! We’re good for a year!’ . . .”You were allowed to take out $10 and get quarters and go to [the arcade] and play video games. Eventually we were allowed to try to buy beer, which never worked.” Ben said their positive attitude is what helped them. Quote, “Matt and I always felt like we’re in it together. Like, ‘Hey, I want to get the part, but I want you to get the part [too].”
Elton John has performed “Rocket Man” countless times, but it wasn’t until recently that he learned the inspiration behind it. In a recent interview, his longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin revealed that the lyrics were inspired by Ray Bradbury’s collection of sci-fi stories, “The Illustrated Man”. He said, quote, “In that book, there was a story called ‘The Rocket Man’, which was about how astronauts in the future would become sort of an everyday job . . . so I kinda took that idea and ran with it.” To which Elton responded, quote, “Do you know, I never knew that.”
John Mayer fans were pleasantly surprised when he performed “Half of My Heart” Wednesday night in Detroit on his solo acoustic tour. That’s his 2009 duet with ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, which is probably why he doesn’t play it often. Taylor didn’t drop in to perform her parts. The audience stepped in for her lines.
Are Morgan Wallen and Miley Cyrus the SAME PERSON? (???) Obviously not, but that’s the joke everyone’s been making on TikTok. Someone realized if you pitch Morgan’s voice up, he sounds EXACTLY like Miley. The song it’s supposed to work best with is “Cover Me Up”. The fact that Morgan’s a big Miley fan makes it even better. Someone dug up an old interview where he said he’d love to work with her because her voice is “INSANE.”
Brothers Osborne are teasing something new. They just wiped their entire Instagram account clean . . . leaving just one post that says, “Big things coming. Join the family fan club.” There’s no indication what that means, although it’s surely something music-related.
Here’s another good reason to watch next month’s “CMT Music Awards”. Darius Rucker will be performing with The Black Crowes. They’ll be doing the band’s hit song “She Talks To Angels”. In other “CMT Music Awards” news, Ashley McBryde, Tyler Hubbard, Wynonna Judd, and Jelly Roll have been added to the list of performers.
Security cameras are great for keeping an eye on your property. Turns out they’re also an excellent source for filming the stupid mistakes you make around the house. Chris Lane shared footage of himself crashing his riding mower into a parked car in his driveway. He hit the back bumper so hard that the car lurched forward and his ballcap went flying. He was kinda asking for it though, because he was attempting to drive around said car WHILE holding a lawn trimmer, rake, and hoe. He didn’t appear injured as he walked away from the scene of the crime. Here’s what he wrote in the caption: “The yard work is gonna have to wait. I now have a car to fix.” His wife Lauren Bushnell added this, “You need to be thanking the Lord above you still have both your legs.”
