CMT did a list this month of NEW Christmas songs to add to your holiday playlist.  Things like “Holiday Party” by Dan + Shay, and “Santa Claus Was My Uber Driver” by Lee Brice. Now another list is making the rounds.  Here are ten MORE new Christmas songs and covers to check out . . .

“Cheer For The Elves” by Blake Shelton.  It’s a cover.  His wife Gwen Stefani did the original version in 2018.

Thomas Rhett’s cover of “Winter Wonderland”.

Rodney Atkins’ new cover of “Christmas Hallelujah” with wife Rose Falcon.  It’s a Christmas version of the Leonard Cohen song.  The Christian band Cloverton originally did it about a decade ago.

Jason Aldean’s cover of Alabama’s “Christmas In Dixie”.

9.  Caylee Hammack’s cover of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)”.

Keith Urban has picked up some extra Christmas spending money this week . . . by selling his music catalog.  He parted ways with the master recordings from 10 studio albums, as well as a greatest hits package.  It’s unknown how much he cleared in the deal . . . but if you bump into Keith at a bar, HE’S BUYING.

Tim McGraw posted a video of himself wearing a tight shirt while making beignets.  They’re similar to donuts and they’re huge in New Orleans.  Tim is from Louisiana.  He says his “girls” always ask him to make them for breakfast on their birthdays.

Carrie Underwood’s new Christmas tradition with her family is wearing matching pajamas.  She said they either buy them or receive them as a gift.  Quote, “We all match, my husband, myself, my sons, and our dogs.  And getting my German Shepherd into a Christmas sweater is no easy feat, I will tell you that.”

Luke Combs’ openers pulled a prank on the final night of his Middle of Somewhere Tour.  Jordan Davis, Lainey Wilson, and Danielle Bradbery created a silly dance that kinda matched the lyrics of “Going, Going, Gone”.  They performed it behind Luke’s back while he did the song on stage.

The other day we heard a clip of a new song from Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton on “Yellowstone”.  There’s more on the way.  Luke signed a record deal with Universal Music Group and is currently working on his debut album.  No word on a release date.

Adam Sandler is the 2023 recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.  He will be honored at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. on March 19th. The award recognizes individuals who have had an impact on American society like Twain.  Past recipients include Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Jon Stewart, Dave Chappelle, Tina Fey, and Will Ferrell. The Kennedy Center president said, quote, “Adam has entertained audiences for over three decades with his films, music, and his tenure as a fan favorite cast member on ‘SNL’ . . .”[He] has created characters that have made us laugh, cry, and cry from laughing.  [I’m] looking forward to a laughter-filled evening as we celebrate his career at a ceremony that is sure to bring together the best in comedy.”

Elon Musk did a bit of gambling this year.  So did it pay off?  Not yet.  Thanks to Tesla’s plummeting stock price and his purchase of Twitter, Musk is no longer the world’s richest man. Not long ago, he was worth $340 billion.  But over the course of the year, he’s lost $100 billion in Tesla stock . . . and paid a ridiculous $44 million for Twitter.  With all his losses, he’s down to a mere, pitiful $168.5 billion.  The NEW richest man in the world is Bernard Arnault, a major shareholder in the French multinational corporation LVMH.  He’s worth $172.9 billion.

Ellen Pompeo has been doing “Grey’s Anatomy” since March of 2005.  But her final episode . . . at least as a regular cast member . . . airs in February.  So why did she decide to leave the show she’s the MAIN CHARACTER of?  Show”, she said, quote, “Listen, it’s just I gotta mix it up a little bit.  I’m 53, my brain is like scrambled eggs . . . I gotta do something new . . .”I mean 19 years . . . that’s more than people keep their kids in their house, like people keep their kids in their house until they’re 18 and then they send them off to college.  This is like me like going away to college.” But she added, quote, “The show has been incredible to me and I’ve loved a lot of the experience.”

Vanessa Hudgens is 34.  Gabriella in the “High School Musical” movies, Rizzo in “Grease: Live”, and Maureen in “Rent: Live”.
