Back in November, Elton John shared that he lost his eyesight in his right eye because of an infection, and that his left eye isn’t much better. Sadly it still hasn’t turned around.  In a new interview Elton told a reporter that he can’t even watch his sons play sports anymore.  “I can see you, but I can’t see TV, I can’t read.  I can’t see my boys playing rugby and soccer, and it has been a very stressful time because I’m used to soaking it all up. It’s distressing. “You get emotional, but you have to get used to it because I’m lucky to have the life I have.  I still have my wonderful family, and I can still see something out of [the left eye].  So you say to yourself, just get on with it.” Elton shares two sons with his husband, ages 12 and 14.

All of Morgan Wallen’s scandals and legal issues in the past only seem to grow his brand and following. The most recent “Saturday Night Live” ordeal is no different.  All six songs that Morgan has released off his new album “I’m the Problem” now occupy the TOP SIX spots on the Apple Music and iTunes Country Song chart. So clearly walking off stage early only helped him.  And in the most recent episode this past weekend, “SNL” poked fun of the Morgan incident . . . twice. First, was during the cold open when the actor playing President Trump said “Get me to God’s country” . . . Which is now Morgan’s famous phrase, that’s already been turned into merch. And the second reference was on their “Weekend Update” segment.  Colin Jost joked, “Money is leaving the stock market faster than Morgan Wallen at good nights.”

Tonight is the beginning of Hollywood Week on “American Idol”. There are always lots of fights, and emotional breakdowns.  But Jelly Roll said it’s even crazier than that. Jelly is the first-ever “Artist in Residence” at “Idol” so he has gotten an up-close-and-personal view at all of these contestants. He said, “Hollywood Week is even more chaotic than what you see on TV . . . The camera can’t catch all the chaos.  I love it because it reminds me of the music business.  It’s real.  They’re not hazing these kids.  This is stuff that happens in our business all the time.” Things like, staying up all night . . . collaborating with a person you’ve never met before . . . or learning a new song at the last minute.  All these things you’ll be asked to do if you make it in the music industry.  So, Jelly’s just preparing these contestants for their future lives.

A petition to rename the Nashville Airport after Dolly Parton is picking up steam.  It was put up on Change.Org in January, but it’s really started to pick up some media attention lately. So instead of the Nashville International Airport, it would be called the Dolly Parton International Airport.  You’d be “Departin’ from Parton.”  And it would be open all hours of the day . . . not just “9-5”. So far, the petition has gotten over 47,000 signatures.

Ronnie Dunn from Brooks & Dunn recently battled an illness, but still tried to soldier through a performance. Fans were concerned at their show in Indianapolis this past Friday, because Ronnie appeared “winded” . . . and he was having trouble hitting some of the high notes in the set. And then during the encore, he was singing “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and got through one verse and the chorus and made the “I’m done” signal to his guitarist. He then thanked the crowd and left the stage while they were still playing. Ronnie was back on stage the next night, rocking out in Peoria, Illinois.

The rare hantavirus — that few had heard of before it killed Gene Hackman’s wife — has killed more people … this time in California. Hantavirus impacts the body fast, and since symptoms present themselves as a chest cold — and the virus is so rare — it is often misdiagnosed.
