Luke Combs and Eric Church brought in over $24 million dollars for Hurricane Helene relief at the “Concert for Carolina” . . . Now it’s Blake Shelton’s turn to help out, because it was just announced that he also has a benefit concert planned. United Way and Paramount Global have teamed up for the “United Way Benefit for Hurricane Relief” that will air Saturday on CBS and CMT at 8:00 p.m.  The Backstreet Boys . . . Kelsea Ballerini . . . Clay Aiken . . . Chris Janson . . . Tyler Hubbard, Stephen Colbert . . . Billy Bob Thornton . . . and Cedric the Entertainer will be there, too.  All proceeds will go to those affected by the devastation of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

The Morgan Wallen Foundation just announced that they’ll be donating $500,000 worth of musical instruments to schools across the U.S with “One Instrument at a Time” and they paired with the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation in order to get this done. They will donate instruments to schools in need across the 14 cities that Morgan’s One Night at a Time Tour visited this year. Morgan said, “When I was a kid, access to music profoundly changed my life and gave me a sense of purpose.  I want that for others, and I’m blessed to be able to provide instruments to these schools through my foundation.”  The president of the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation said, “The generosity of the Morgan Wallen Foundation will make a profound difference in the lives of students, empowering them to unleash their potential and pursue their dreams.”

A poll this week found just 7% of Americans have ever voted for someone because a celebrity told them to.  Someone asked Chris Stapleton who he’s voting for, and he said, “I’m voting for America and a good glass of whiskey.”  That doesn’t mean he thinks other celebrities shouldn’t talk about it though.  “I’m not saying celebrities shouldn’t endorse people – that’s American.  [But] I also think the right to keep that private, [and] let people make their own choices based on what politicians say and do – that’s American too.” They also asked him about a “GQ” article from last year that said his music might be the only thing ALL Americans can agree on right now. He said he doubts it.  But “If that’s true, I think it’s wonderful, because I think we need more things we can agree on.”

NASA invited Josh Turner to sing for the astronauts in space.  He went to the Johnson Space Center in Houston, and it was beamed up to the astronauts from there. He performed “Two Steppin’ on the Moon”  and called it “a one-of-a-kind gig for me.”

Jennifer Lopez plays the mother of a one-legged college wrestler in “Unstoppable”.  It’s based on a true story.
