Luke Combs posted on Instagram that the “Concert for Carolina” will, “Go down as the night I am most proud of in my career.” He and Eric Church came together to help those affected in the Carolinas by the devastation of Hurricane Helene. And they raised over $24 MILLION dollars. During the concert, Luke thanked the owners of the Carolina Panthers for donating their stadium as a venue, and everyone else who donated their time. And then he told the crowd, “Every single dollar that is made in this building tonight, is going straight up those damn mountains to the people that need it the most. And I have never been more proud to walk on this stage, than I am right now.” And Eric Church has announced plans to rebuild 100 homes, for residents who lost theirs, through his Chief Cares Fund.
Morgan Wallen’s new song “Love Somebody” was released a week and a half ago and has already become the #1 song on Billboard’s Hot 100. So . . has dethroned Shaboozey, who had a 15-week run of being on top with “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”. Shaboozey was only one week away from tying Morgan’s song, “Last Night”, which dominated the charts last year. The all-time record is held by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus who saw “Old Town Road” on top of the chart for 19 weeks back in 2019. In the 66 years since the creation of Billboard’s Hot 100, only 4% of all number one songs have led the chart for double-digit weeks.
Keith Urban live that men generally come to his shows for two reasons: They either play guitar . . . or a woman MADE them go. He calls them the “reluctant boyfriends.” He said they’re the guys he sees out in the crowd “with their arms folded.” He joked they’re probably all thinking . . . I’ll “get [lucky]” tonight if I can just “put with up this guy for the next two hours.” It was even more common when he was just starting out. So his goal was always to win them over by the end of the show.
It’s only been about a week since Zach Bryan and Brianna Chickenfry announced their break-up. It wouldn’t be surprising if the experience inspired a break-up song . . . but it would be interesting if he had one RIGHT NOW. Zach is teasing a new song on social media called “All Good Things Past” . . . and some people think it sounds like a break-up song. It isn’t nasty . . . it’s mostly about someone finding their way again after making some mistakes. There are no specifics, but that’s the same tone that Zach shared when he announced the break-up . . . He said, “To anyone I let down, I am sorry . . . I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”
The Yankees beat the Dodgers 11 to 4 in Game 4 of the World Series. They’re still down 3 games to 1, and Game 5 is tonight in New York.
