Posty is the first person in MUSIC HISTORY to have a #1 on the Top Country Album chart, a #1 on the Top Rap Album chart, and a #1 on the Top Rock & Alternative chart. He had three #1 rap albums: “Stoney” . . . “Beerbongs and Bentleys” . . . and “Hollywood’s Bleeding”. He had a #1 Rock & Alternative album with “Austin” . . . and now his #1 Country album “F-1 Trillion”
“MusicRow” magazine just announced the winners of the 36th annual MusicRow Awards. These awards honor not just the singers and songwriters, but also the producers, labels, and the individual musicians themselves. The most notable win was in the biggest category of the night, Entertainer of the Year. The nominees were: Luke Combs . . . Cody Johnson . . . Jelly Roll . . . Chris Stapleton . . . Morgan Wallen . . . and Lainey Wilson. Lainey beat those other five boys and took down the prize. Song of the Year: “Dirt Cheap” written by Josh Phillips, performed by Cody Johnson. Breakthrough Artist of the Year: Shaboozey Group/Duo of the Year: Old Dominion Female Artist of the Year: Lainey Wilson Male Artist of the Year: Jelly Roll
Jelly Roll just did a show in Salt Lake City as part of his Beautifully Broken tour. And while he was out and about exploring the city, he spotted a local lemonade stand. The mom of one of the kids who ran the lemonade stand posted on Facebook and said, “So today was an interesting day. My kid and her cousins wanted to do a lemonade stand . . .”Who would have thought we would run into Jelly Roll in the west valley. And for him to be so generous with giving them almost $700.” The mom snapped a few photos of Jelly with the kids, and they’re awesome. I swear, I’ve never seen a picture of Jelly where he doesn’t have the biggest smile on his face. And the kids had huge smiles too, thanks to meeting such a cool dude . . . and that extremely generous tip.
Jordan Davis was recently asked what it’s like to tour during football season. Jordan is an LSU graduate and football superfan, so he’s especially pumped for the Canadian leg of his tour, because a lot of the shows are out west . . . and that means football comes on earlier in the day. He said, “I’ve already looked at kickoffs. I’ve already told my band guys that I do not wanna be informed of the scores or kept up to date [and] that all games will be recorded.” Some of his shows will start around halfway through the fourth quarter, so he said, “There might be a few days where there’s some technical stuff and we have to bump the show back 15 minutes.” So, if you’re at a Jordan Davis show in Canada, and there’s a small delay . . . He’s probably backstage watching football.
