It’s become a tradition that wherever Morgan Wallen performs, he gets a couple of the most famous sportsmen in that area to join him. Last time it was Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes at Arrowhead. And now that Morgan’s in Vegas, it makes complete sense that you’d ask Mike Tyson to join you. But Tom Brady? Seeing Tommy in a Raiders hat was a little weird. But it looks like Tom might be trying to buy a minority stake in the Raiders, and he’s already a part-owner of the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA, so it makes sense. But I bet if you’re a Patriots or Buccaneers fan, you might be wondering if he’s coming out of retirement AGAIN. Either way, Morgan sure seems to have some cool friends.
A little over a year ago, Oliver Anthony’s song, “Rich Men North of Richmond” was released on YouTube. To date, it has 158 million views. But since his rise to fame, he’s wanted to do it all on his own . . . and his strategy has worked. He’s played in front of 70,000 at the Houston Rodeo, and at the Ryman Auditorium . . . and is recognized all over the world. He recently posted an update to his YouTube account and shared some insights about where this crazy year has taken him. He said, “I’m almost through with the tour this year. I’ve done it without a label. I’ve done it without sponsors. I haven’t taken a dime from anyone . . . I never have to work again for the rest of my life.” He went on to say, “Just the interest I’ve made off the money already would at least buy my groceries and keep my family comfortable. That is the only financial goal I had, was just to be financially free. To not owe anything to a bank or another man.” He said that all he wants is, quote, “To just have my land and my house and a roof that doesn’t leak. And a place that I can grow a garden and raise a few cows and sheep and be alive. “And try to live life the way my grandparents lived their lives.”
“Last Night” by Morgan Wallen dominated the airwaves last year. It made Morgan the first Country singer to reach #1 on the “Billboard” Hot 100 in 42 years . . . And it was “Billboard’s” biggest single of 2023, with 16 weeks at #1, which is the longest ever by a solo act.
Post Malone has covered a LOT of ground on his journey to “figure out who he is.” He went from playing “Guitar Hero” . . . to learning the actual guitar and songwriting. He went from rap to country . . . and he went from a spiral of loneliness to TENS OF MILLIONS of followers on social media. In an interview with “CBS Sunday Morning”, Post says, “[It was] gettin’ up, havin’ a good cry, drinkin’, and then goin’ living your life. And then whenever you go lay down, drinkin’ some more and having a good cry. And just like, ‘I gotta wake up tomorrow and do this again.’ [But] I don’t feel like that anymore. And it’s the most amazing thing.”That sounds sad . . . but Post says that he “needed” that, to figure out who he was, and to reach the place he is now. And now that his fans have helped him break through that cycle of loneliness, he wants to make sure THEY’RE feeling the love too. He says, quote, “I don’t want people to feel how I’ve felt. And I know they do. And I’m here, and I’m on stage, and I just want everyone to feel welcome and to feel loved. And that’s the most important thing for me.”
