NBC unveiled its schedule next year ay . . . Snoop Dogg is joining Season 26 of “The Voice” as a coach. Also getting his own spinny chair for the first time will be Michael Bublé. They’ll be joined by Gwen Stefani and Reba McEntire. Reba also has a new sitcom on the way called “Happy’s Place”. There was also a lot of buzz around the trailer for a Peacock miniseries called “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist”, starring Kevin Hart and Taraji P. Henson. It’s about an armed robbery that took place on the night of Muhammad Ali’s comeback fight in 1970.
If you think about Lainey Wilson, what comes to mind? Easy, right? It’s her bell bottoms. It’s her signature look. She’s asked about it a LOT . . . and she’s talked about how she wanted to have something to set herself apart. But there’s another cool angle to it. She wanted to have an iconic “Air Jordan” look. Sort of. In the early days of her career, she and her manager were taking a tour of the Country Music Television offices. And while they were admiring the photos of country icons up on the wall, the executive showing them around said, “All the legends . . . you can recognize by their silhouette.” This comment stuck with Lainey . . . so she went all-in on the bell bottom aesthetic, matching it with a wide brim hat to really stick out. if you were to look at a silhouette of all the major country stars, you’d instantly know which one was Lainey. So, she definitely accomplished that goal. She’s also the only female nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the ACM Awards. The show takes place Thursday, May 16th. Go Lainey!
Seven artists are up for Entertainer of the Year at the ACMs this Thursday, including Luke Combs. So, who does HE think should win? Someone asked and said he wasn’t allowed to pick himself. The other six nominees are Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Lainey Wilson, and Morgan Wallen. So, who’d he pick? He thinks KANE BROWN deserves it most. “He has never gotten the recognition that I think that he deserves, [and] he works really hard.” It’s Kane’s 15th ACM nomination, and he’s only won once. He took home Video of the Year in 2021 for “Worldwide Beautiful”. Luke might actually deserve it more than anyone though. It’s the fifth year in a row he’s been up for Entertainer of the Year, and he’s never won. He leads all ACM nominees this time with eight total nods.
Morgan Wallen has already taken over this country . . . now he’s taking his invasion overseas. Morgan has added six European dates to his “One Thing at a Time” tour. He’ll play Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Glasgow, and Dublin in August and September. Larry Fleet and Lauren Watkins will open.
