Christina Applegate was diagnosed with MS in 2021. In a preview for today’s interview on “Good Morning America”, she says, “I’m not out a lot, so this is a little difficult, just for my system. But of course, the support is wonderful and I’m really grateful.” Christina also says she BLACKED OUT when she presented at the Emmys back in January. “People said, ‘Oh, you were so funny’, and I’m like, ‘I don’t even know what I said. I don’t know what I was doing.’ I got so freaked out . . .”I didn’t even know what was happening anymore. And I felt really beloved, and it was a beautiful thing. I probably shouldn’t say this, that audience stood up for everybody. Christina received a standing ovation and joked that everyone was shaming her with disabilities by standing up.
The sequel to “This Is Spinal Tap” has officially begun filming in New Orleans. And a bunch of celebrity cameos have been announced. They include Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks, Paul McCartney, and Elton John. The movie sees the guys getting back together RELUCTANTLY for one more, contractually-obligated, concert after years of separation and bad blood.
Dolly Parton just dropped a major bombshell. In the past, she said she would LOVE if Beyoncé would cover one of her songs. Now that has changed to Dolly saying, “I think she has.” Dolly sat down with a local paper, Knox News, during the season opening of Dollywood and had some tea to dish out about Beyoncé. When asked if Beyoncé was going to sing one of her songs on the upcoming “Act II” album, Dolly said, “Well, I think she has! I think she’s recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’s probably gonna be on her country album, which I’m very excited about that.” And when asked what she thought of Beyoncé, Dolly said, “I love her! She’s a beautiful girl and a great singer.” 2024 is already off to a wild start, and if Beyoncé drops a cover of “Jolene”, the country music world will never be the same again.
Morgan Wallen’s”One Thing at a Time”set a new record for the most weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 for a country album with 19 nonconsecutive weeks. The record was previously held by Garth Brooks'”Ropin the Wind”with 18 weeks between 1991 and 1992. Morgan still trails Adele, whose album “21”set the overall record with 24 weeks about ten years ago.
Post Malone paid tribute to Toby Keith while on stage shirtless Saturday at the American Rodeo in Dallas. He poured beer out of a red Solo cup, before taking a drink, and breaking into an acoustic cover of “As Good As I Once Was”.
Having someone drive you to the airport is a big ask now that we’ve all got Uber. So, it takes a good friend to do it. Lainey Wilson just headed off to Australia for a string of concerts this month. And Keith Urban dropped her at the airport. She posted a video of them driving, where he teases her about all the wildlife that could KILL her . . . like redback spiders that “love toilet seats.” So are Lainey and Keith such good friends they drive each other to the airport now? Or . . . maybe Keith’s moonlighting as an Uber driver? Probably not. The end of the video might be the REAL reason he drove her. They hug at the airport, and she says she’s excited to go visit his home. Then he says, “I wish I could go home again” . . . and adds, “Ooh, that’s a good song title.”
A Jimmy Buffett tribute show is going down on April 11th at the Hollywood Bowl in L.A. It’s called Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett . . . and the lineup is pretty impressive. It includes the Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Brandi Carlile, Jake Owen, and Eric Church. Not to mention Paul McCartney, the Eagles, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Jack Johnson, and Pitbull.
