Comedian Richard Lewis died Tuesday night after suffering a heart attack. He was 76. He had also been living with Parkinson’s disease. In addition to his brilliant standup career, Lewis also co-starred on the sitcom “Anything But Love” with Jamie Lee Curtis in the ’80s and early ’90s. His films included “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” and “Leaving Las Vegas”. These days he’s best known as a cast member of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, starring his childhood friend Larry David.David issued a statement saying, quote, “Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he’s been like a brother to me. He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that, I’ll never forgive him. Jamie Lee paid tribute to him on Instagram, where she called him, quote, “the reason I am sober.” He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lapinsky.
When Tish Cyrus married “Prison Break” actor Dominic Purcell in August of 2023, her daughter Noah wasn’t there. And now we might know why. “Us Weekly” says that Noah was romantically involved with Purcell when her mom started pursing him. (!!!) In other words, Tish stole a man from her own daughter. And get this: The wedding went down at Miley’s house . . . and sources say the ARMED GUARDS who were hired for the ceremony were instructed to keep Noah out if she showed up. Miley is obviously Team Tish. While accepting a Grammy earlier this month, she thanked her mom, who was there with her. She did NOT mention her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.

Kacey Musgraves has always been known for being a straight-shooter. Well, she proved that once again in a hilarious TikTok interview posted a few days ago. She was being asked quickfire questions by the super funny comedian Hannah Berner so it was bound to get dirty pretty fast, and they did not disappoint. Kacey has a new album coming out next month called “Deeper Well”, so Hannah asked her, “How deep is your well?” And Kacey didn’t skip a beat. She said, “Oh girl, you don’t want to even know.” To which Hannah followed up with, “Do you have a wide-set well?” And Kacey said, “No . . . it’s a narrow, but very deep well.” Hannah then asked Kacey if she had any guilty pleasures to which she responded, “I don’t know if I believe in guilty pleasures. Can they just be pleasures?” But Kacey did admit one indulgence and that’s watching “Yellowstone”. Hannah then immediately jumped in with, “Kevin Costner is a zaddy.” And Kacey fully agreed, “He actually is. That Dutton energy. Throw it down.”
Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll were thrown a huge bash by BMI last week in Nashville to celebrate the three number ones between them. And it sounded like they had a whole lot of fun. Jelly Roll’s cousin even set up in the back giving out free tattoos for any of the event’s 250 guests. They were celebrating Jelly Roll for his songs “Need a Favor” and then “Save Me” which was nominated for a Grammy alongside Lainey. And then also celebrating her song, “Watermelon Moonshine”, which is her fifth number one. I didn’t know how close these two were, but apparently, they think of each other as family. Jelly said that he calls Lainey to talk about everything from career triumphs to negativity on social media, and she always answers the phone. Both of them were asked why they didn’t quit after so many years of not making it. Jelly said, “I think I just had this deep-rooted belief that I was here to represent a group of people that wasn’t represented. I knew that one day it could connect.” And Lainey said, “I think it was grit . . . that grit that my mama and daddy instilled in me from the beginning . . . I knew from an early age . . . that this was my calling.” It’s cool to see how strong their bond is. Jelly summed it up pretty good, “life ain’t about what you do, it’s about who you do it with.”
“Friends in Low Places” is Garth Brooks’ signature song. But it almost wasn’t his song at all. Garth recorded a demo for the song, but George Strait was supposed to release it. Garth said, “The reason they asked me to do the demo was because I wanted to be George Strait for years, so I do a pretty good impersonation of him.” But apparently George didn’t want it, so Garth recorded it for his 1990 album “No Fences”, and the rest is history.
