Monday was a big day for Tim McGraw. He woke up to learn that “Standing Room Only” had gone to Number One. It’s his 46th song to top the Country Radio Chart . . . and he was over the moon about it. Here’s what he shared on social media. Quote, “I can’t believe it, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you to country radio and everyone listening. Stay tuned for a big surprise.” That came later in another post. “In the spirit of being thankful, I’m so grateful for all of you and the ways you’ve supported me, my family, and my music through the years. Here’s a little surprise drop of a few songs you’ve never The “few songs” is a new EP titled “Poet’s Resume”. He also released the first single, which is called “Run
Morgan Wallen responded to a social media tribute Hardy posted this week, marking the end of FIVE YEARS on the road together. Hardy posted a bunch of photos and said, “Five years of touring with [Morgan] came to an end last night. There’s so much I can say about how much it’s done for me and my career. But at the end of the day, it all ends in ‘thank you.'” He added, “I love you like a brother” and called it “the most epic five years” of his life. Morgan responded yesterday saying, “Proud and grateful don’t even cover it.” He told fans that if you’re not listening to Hardy, please “enlighten yourself.” Billboard just released its year-end charts. And as you’d expect, Morgan’s name is heavily featured. According to their stats, he was the Top Male Artist of 2023 . . . had the Top Song of 2023, “Last Night” . . . the Top Album, “One Thing at a Time” . . . and was the Most Streamed artist of the year as well. Taylor Swift was the Top Artist overall. Morgan is second on that list. But he’s #1 on their Hot 100 Artists list. It’s the first time a country star has topped that one since Kenny Rogers in 1981.
Wynonna Judd had a very special bond with her mom Naomi, even though it was often put to the test. They toured together as The Judds for 10 years, which is a lot of shared bus rides, planes, and hotels. Wynonna remembers those days as being more of a boss-employee dynamic. Of course, Naomi was the boss. Quote, “Let’s just get it straight here. I was the lead singer, and the only way I could get her to get that would be to be late . . .”I had a thing about being late just to show her that I had some power . . . We had a lot of fights. It’s not natural to be on a bus with your mother at 17.” In related news, Wynonna released a solo version of the Judds’ Christmas song, “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem”. Quote, “Getting to re-record it with my husband 35 years later, was so special to me. It’s rootsy and raw.”
If you’re an old-schooler, this might come as a surprise: Jelly Roll and Nelly recently performed together at the Grand Ole Opry. It isn’t shocking: Nelly enjoys venturing into country collaborations, and Jelly is one of the hottest performers in country music. But it’s still wild to see. On Monday, there was a charity concert for St. Jude at the Opry, featuring Jelly, Riley Green, and Chris Janson. Jelly surprised the crowd by bringing out Nelly for a performance of “Hot In Herre”.
This Thanksgiving Reba McEntire is thankful for her health, her family, and her boyfriend, actor Rex Linn.
Mitchell Tenpenny can’t imagine a Thanksgiving dinner without macaroni and cheese . . . and deviled eggs. Quote, “They go hand in hand for me. If the mac and cheese isn’t there or the deviled eggs, [I’m] a brat about it.”
