The movie, Priscilla is based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 autobiography “Elvis and Me”, and Lisa Marie read the script several months before she died. She was NOT impressed. She even sent emails to director Sofia Coppola, to complain. She said, “My father only comes across as a predator and manipulative. As his daughter, I don’t read this and see any of my father in this character. I don’t read this and see my mother’s perspective of my father. I read this and see your shockingly vengeful and contemptuous perspective and I don’t understand why? I will be forced to be in a position where I will have to openly say how I feel about the film and go against you, my mother and this film publicly.” That never happened. Lisa Marie died in January. Sophia had written back to Lisa Marie, saying she was, quote, “taking great care in honoring your mother, while also presenting your father with sensitivity and complexity.”
Yesterday Mariah Carey unveiled a brand new Christmas shirt. It has a picture of her on it, with the phrase “It’s Time!”. She’s selling it on Amazon, along with some other Christmas merch. Her Christmas Funko Pop, a deluxe edition of her “Merry Christmas” album, and her children’s book, “The Christmas Princess (The Adventures of Little Mariah)”. . . which came out last year. Mariah is also the star of Victoria’s Secret’s new holiday campaign.

The NFL has asked Dolly Parton to headline the Superbowl Halftime show, but no luck so far. Dolly said, “I’ve been offered that many times. I couldn’t do it because of other things, or I just didn’t think I [could] do that big of a production. When you think about those shows, they’re big, big productions. There may be a happy ending thanks to her upcoming album, “Rockstar”. “It would make more sense. That might change. I might be able to do a production show.”That show could feature tons of famous performers. There are over 40 stars on the album, including Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, Miley Cyrus, Pink, Elton John, Rob Halford, Ann Wilson, Sting, Steven Tyler, and Chris Stapleton.
Jon Pardi had to reschedule three shows last week thanks to strep throat. Now he just postponed three more thanks to COVID. He posted a video and announced he and his eight-month-old daughter Presley both have it. He said his wife Summer probably does as well, and that it’s been going around his band and crew. He was supposed to have a show last night in Idaho, plus two more tonight and tomorrow in Montana. He said they’ll all be rescheduled, but no dates yet.
Garth Brooks will headline the first-ever “Amazon Music Live” special on November 24th, which is Black Friday. He’ll be performing live from the grand opening of his new ‘Friends in Low Places Bar and Honky-Tonk’ in Nashville. It’s a pretty small venue, so he didn’t make tickets available. But you can watch it live for free exclusively on the Prime Video app and the Amazon Music Channel on Twitch.
