Here’s a ghost story that isn’t very scary.  You might even wish it would happen to you.  Darius Rucker was on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” yesterday and she flat-out asked if he believes in ghosts. Without hesitating he said yes, and then told a story about being in college and moving into a new house.  His roommate was Dean Felber who was also the bass player in Hootie & the Blowfish.  Here’s the story . . . “[We] each got a bunch of beds from my house, and I had my grandmother’s bed.  My grandmother had died, and I woke up at three o’clock one morning, I look at the edge of my bed [and] my grandma’s sitting there. “I sit up and I wipe my eyes and go, ‘wow.’  And she’s still sitting there, and I get up and run out of my bed, and into Dean’s room and I was like, ‘My grandmother’s ghost is in my room. Can I sleep in your bed?’  He went, ‘no.'” Darius said it only scared him a little, and he still believes in ghosts.

Nate Smith wants to make sure he never forgets his own lyrics at a show again.  He talked about it on CMT’s “Hot 20 Countdown” over the weekend. Earlier this month, he consoled Luke Bryan on Instagram after a video blew up of Luke forgetting some lyrics at a show in Fort Worth, Texas.  Nate said, “I feel you,” and posted a clip of himself forgetting the lyrics to “Better Boy” at a recent gig. When they asked him about it on “Hot 20 Countdown”, he said he still cringes when he hears it, and it wasn’t the first time it’s happened.  So he’s resorted to using a “confidence monitor” at his shows. It’s an industry term for a screen down by your feet that has all the lyrics on it.  He said he rarely needs it, but it’s nice to know it’s there.

Kane Brown turned 30 this past Saturday, and he shared footage from his spooky party, which was all about saying “R.I.P. to his 20s.” It was very elaborate, and included:  Custom decorations . . . cocktails . . . a dance floor . . . a tattoo artist . . . a magician . . . a pizza truck . . . and a social media video, which is set to “Thriller” by Michael Jackson. That’s “elaborate” from a NON-famous person’s perspective.  After all, it took place at the BASKETBALL ARENA they have on their property.

Tanya Tucker was seen riding a horse around Downtown Nashville on Saturday.  It seems to be her thing, because it was the same black stallion she made history as the first person to ride a horse on the Grand Ole Opry stage back in June. This time the occasion was being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday . . . along with Patty Loveless and Bob McDill.

Two generations of country music collided over the weekend when country superstar Carrie Underwood had the opportunity to play a show with the legendary Willie Nelson. Underwood, 40, and Nelson, 90, appeared at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, October 21 for ATLive. The pair had a backstage encounter while visiting the home of the Atlanta Falcons and Underwood documented the moment on Instagram with a clever caption.

As expected, Cody Johnson has added a bunch of new dates to his 2024 Leather Tour.  Justin Moore, Chris Janson, Dillon Carmichael, and Drake Milligan will continue to open select shows.  Dates and details are at CodyJohnsonMusic.com. (March 23, Baltimore, MD)

Jon Pardi has unveiled the tracklist to his new album, “Merry Christmas from Jon Pardi”.  It drops this Friday.

Jamie O’Neal and Ty Herndon have released a new duet called, “Merry Christmas Baby”.  It’ll be on the deluxe edition of Jamie’s album, “Spirit & Joy”, which is out November 3rd.

Carrie Ann Inaba used to work for Madonna, and she says dancers were fined $100 for every minute they were late.

Drake is 37.

Kevin Kline is 76.

Bill Wyman is 87.  Former Rolling Stones bassist.
