Dolly Parton has been everywhere promoting her album “Rock Star”, which is out November 17th. CMT got her to sit down long enough to answer a few questions. What’s the strangest rumor she’s heard about herself? “That I was married to Burt Reynolds, and we had an alien baby. Something like that.” (They co-starred in “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”.) Favorite snack: Potatoes. Especially potato chips. If she got stuck on an elevator with any collaborator on the “Rock Star” album, who would it be? “Paul McCartney. We’d write some great stuff.” What’s the funniest or weirdest thing a fan asked her to sign? “Their butt. And then they got it tattooed. So, then they sit on me all the time.”
Luke Combs wraps up his world tour this Friday in London. But his stop in Scotland is in the news thanks to a bold wardrobe choice. He decided to embrace his Scottish roots by performing in a KILT. He did most of Monday’s show in Glasgow in normal clothes. But then he walked out for his encore in a red kilt and cowboy boots, and the crowd went nuts. He ended with the song “Beer Never Broke My Heart”. Turns out he’d been planning it for a while, and went to a high-end kilt place in Glasgow called MacGregor & MacDuff to get fitted. They called him “a joy” to work with and posted their own video with some behind-the-scenes stuff. He chose the pattern for the clan Fraser, his mom’s maiden name.
Maren Morris filed for divorce from Ryan Hurd. They’ve been married for five years, and have one child together. Their son Hayes Andrew is three. Maren filed divorce papers on October 2nd, and cited “irreconcilable differences.” She asked for their prenuptial agreement to be enforced and for joint custody of their son. The date of the separation was ALSO listed as October 2nd, so this may have happened quickly. It was just last month that Ryan posted a long message on Instagram saying Maren “should be celebrated” for speaking her mind. This was around the time of her announcement that she was walking away country music. The marriage had its rocky moments from the get-go. They did couples therapy before reaching their first wedding anniversary. Maren is 33, and Ryan is 36.
Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning may be the next long-term co-hosts for the CMA Awards. Luke said they did such a good job last year that they were immediately asked to come back. “[Last] year was our first time together and we just had a great time. I think, literally, we were walking off the stage and the CMAs were already trying to get us to come on board one more time and sign-up again.”
Riley Green’s mom says his new underwear ad captures his personality well. But she does admit that some of the photos are a “little creepy”, but, quote, “if he’s happy with it, I’m happy with it”.
Jordan Davis (the country singer) just met Jordan Davis (the defensive tackle from the Philadelphia Eagles). It happened earlier this month when Jordan (the singer) performed in Philly. Jordan talked about the meeting at the concert . . . and said, “he’s got a great name.” At one point, he put on Jordan’s jersey, and joked about how it was smart for the Eagles to take HIM in the first round last year. Jordan also got to meet Jason Kelce. He’s the center for the Eagles . . . and Taylor Swift’s future brother-in-law.
