If you haven’t been tracking the wildfires in Maui, it’s a serious situation. And Kip Moore has a special connection to the place. When he was flat broke after college, he lived in a “little hut” in Hawaii and hitchhiked to the beach every day to surf. He posted a video on Twitter yesterday and talked about the fires. He said it’s still like “home” to him, and he has a lot of friends there. He wanted anyone watching from Maui to know people care, and that he realizes it’ll be “a long road back.” But he’s ready to help. He’s already organizing a benefit concert, and rallying other artists to be part of it. He said he wants to do it as soon as possible. He wrote, “Help is coming, Maui,” and linked to his charity, the One Heartbeat Hawaii Fund. He launched it last year to help Hawaiians facing hard times. Sadly, that’ll include even more people after this.
Up until recently, the Country Music Hall of Fame had Taylor Swift’s blue, “koi fish” guitar on display. It was featured in her video for “Anti-Hero”, where it looks like she smashes it. But she didn’t, that one was just a prop. Taylor wanted the koi fish guitar back so she could play it on tour. And as a replacement, she gave them the broken, prop guitar that was smashed in the video.
Morgan Wade’s “Fall in Love with Me” video is out. It’s the one where she and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards play a same-sex couple. They try very hard to make it look “steamy”. It starts with Morgan moving in next door, and what follows are scenes, real or imagined, of them writing love notes, feeding each other fruit and whipped cream, and taking a bath together.
Lauren Alaina was in shock when her future father-in-law showed up at her tour bus Wednesday for the first night of her tour with Pentatonix. She posted a wholesome video of the surprise and says he drove four hours to watch her sing for 40 minutes.
If you haven’t seen it, there’s a video of Lainey Wilson’s recent visit to the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville. She spent time with the kids, played some music, and learned about the work the hospital does.
George Strait recently performed in Tampa, Florida, and Bay News 9 meteorologist Kyle Hanson honored The King by sneaking in references to his music in his forecast. You’ll notice “Write This Down”, “Check Yes or No”, and “Living and Living Well”.
