You may recall that President Trump offered Dolly Parton the Presidential Medal of Freedom, but she turned him down. Well, according to “The Today Show’s” Jacob Soboroff, she also said no to President Biden. She told that to Jacob during an interview, although that part of the conversation wasn’t included in the video that’s making the rounds. They did discuss the lyrics of her rock song “World on Fire”. Jacob read this part out loud. Quote, “Greedy politicians present and past. They wouldn’t know the truth if it bit ’em in the ass.” Then he asked what politicians she’s talking about. She said, quote, “All of ’em. Any of em. “I don’t think any of ’em are trying hard enough. They worry more about their party than they do about the people. If we do what we felt was the right thing, rather than who’s gonna lose, who’s gonna win, who’s gonna look better if they do this, rather than working from the heart.”
Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing at a Time” spent its 10th consecutive week at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. This ties the record set with his last album, 2021’s “Dangerous: The Double Album”. Morgan is now the first solo male artist to have CONSECUTIVE projects spend their first 10 weeks at #1. Only four other artists have accomplished this: Adele . . . Whitney Houston . . . The Monkees . . . and The Kingston Trio. He also is the ONLY artist to have at least two COUNTRY albums spend 10 or more weeks at #1. Morgan also joins eight other artists to have at least two albums spend 10 weeks. They are: Elvis Presley . . . The Beatles . . . Adele . . . Taylor Swift . . . The Monkees . . . Whitney Houston . . . The Kingston Trio . . . and Henry Mancini.
Kenny Chesney got Kelsea Ballerini to take a backstage ICE BATH with his band before their show in Lincoln, Nebraska this weekend. But there was one condition. She said only if he did a SHOT with her on stage for his song, “You and Tequila”. The ice bath happened during an episode of his show, “No Shoes Radio”. And he laughed, because “You and Tequila” wasn’t on the setlist that night. It mysteriously got added last-minute though, and Kelsey showed up on stage with a shot for him.
Reba McEntire is serving as a mentor on the current season of “The Voice” . . . and they must like her, because she’s getting a PROMOTION. Reba will take Blake Shelton’s chair on the upcoming 24th season this fall. As you’ve probably heard, Blake is leaving after this season. He’s been around since the show’s launch back in 2011. The three other coaches next season will be Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Niall Horan.
