Kaley Cuoco and actor Tom Pelphrey have welcomed their first child together. Cuoco, 37, took to Instagram on Saturday to announce that she gave birth two days prior to daughter Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey.

Reba McEntire just spoke out against the new law in Tennessee that bans drag shows in public spaces.  She told the “L.A. Times” she doesn’t usually get into politics, but that she was “disappointed” by it. She said the world’s got so many problems that “worrying about men wanting to dress up as women” seems strange.  Quote, “God bless ’em to wear those high heels.  I feel for ’em.”She added, “I wish they would spend that much time and energy and money on feeding the homeless children.”

A month ago, Keith Urban triggered a social media debate about standing at concerts.  He posted a photo, praising a sign at a venue in Las Vegas that said, “Guests are encouraged to stand during the performance.”  And naturally, that rubbed some salt in the old standers vs. sitters debate.  About half Keith’s followers celebrated the post, saying that it’s no fun to sit at concerts . . . and everyone should be up and dancing.  Others complained that they pay good money for a SEAT . . . and people standing blocks their view. Others pointed out that standing benefits taller people . . . and sitting makes it easier for EVERYONE to see, especially older people, younger people, shorter people, and disabled people.

Miranda Lambert had to cancel her show last Thursday in Vegas, because she wasn’t feeling well.  She was under a doctor’s care all that day, and put on vocal rest.  She did rally to do other shows over the weekend.

What do you when you’re in Austin, Texas a few days early for the CMTs?  If you’re Tyler Hubbard, you look for the “Best Honky Tonk in Texas” and do a surprise show.  He and his band hit the stage at the Broken Spoke Dancehall on Thursday, and he shared a video of the fun on Instagram.

Cole Swindell says he doesn’t have a specific pre-show ritual, but he does enjoy having a toast with his band.  They like to remind each other how thankful they are to do what they love, then take a shot together, and hit the stage.

Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing at a Time” is the #1 album for a fourth straight week.

Jelly Roll – “Son of a Sinner” won Breakthrough Male Video of the Year, Male Video of the Year, and CMT Digital-First Performance of the Year. Lainey Wilson also had a great night.  “Heart Like a Truck” won Female Video of the Year . . . and she shared the Collaborative Video of the Year with Hardy for “Wait in the Truck”.  Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn Brown took home the big prize when “Thank God” won Video of the Year. Kane co-hosted the show with Kelsea Ballerini. Shania Twain was given the Equal Play Award, which recognizes artists who help elevate diversity in country music. The show was held in Austin, Texas for the first time, and they took every chance to remind us.  Kane ate barbecue brisket on stage, Kelsea whipped out a burrito, and Keith Urban sang in front of the state capitol. Blake Shelton sang “Austin”, Cody Johnson did “Human”, and Jelly Roll was backed by an Austin gospel choir for a show-stopping performance of his new song “Need a Favor”. What do you get when Darius Rucker helps the Black Crowes perform their song “She Talks to Angels”?  A really good preview of their upcoming “CMT Crossroads”. Inclusion was a theme that kept popping up.  And it came out loud and proud during Kelsea Ballerini’s performance of “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)”, which featured several stars of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”. They celebrated the 10th anniversary CMT’s Next Women of Country with Alanis Morissette being joined by Lainey Wilson, Ingrid Andress, Madeline Edwards, and Morgan Wade for Alanis’ iconic song, “You Oughta Know”. The show closed with the all-star Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute, and it delivered.  It featured Cody Johnson and Paul Rodgers on vocals, Billy Gibbons, Slash, and Warren Haynes on guitar . . . and LeAnn Rimes and Wynonna Judd joining in as The Honkettes.
