The Zac Brown Band canceled their show in Vancouver, Canada on Friday after some crew members were denied entry at the border.  It was NOT because of Covid. Zac released a statement saying some crew members had charges on their records from over a decade ago, and even though they “have since been removed” they were weren’t allowed in.  So he pulled the plug on the show. “We’re a family.  We stick together and support each other, and never leave anyone behind.  As a band who prides themselves on showing up with excitement and professionalism, we will always play where we are welcome.” The weird part is that the band has been performing regularly in Canada, including twice THIS year. “Each time we’ve come to Canada, we have been at the mercy of a single border agent who decides who is allowed in to work, and unfortunately, not everyone was able to make it in the country [this time.]”

There may be several reasons why Blake Shelton decided that next season would be his last on “The Voice”.  But according to Radar.com, he did it because Gwen Stefani applied the pressure. An insider close to the couple said, “Gwen wants him to spend more time with her, so they can ensure a happy future together.” You have to admit, Blake does get around.  When he’s not touring, hunting, doing charity events, or yapping away on a talk show, you might see him hanging out at one of his Old Red restaurants. The insider said his busy schedule has been an issue since the couple got married.  They can’t even agree where to live.  They split time between Gwen’s $13 million mansion in Encino, California . . . or Blake’s ranch in Oklahoma.

Kenny Chesney was given an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from his alma mater, East Tennessee State University.  He graduated back in 1990 and participated in their bluegrass program and studied advertising. He credits the school’s music program for inspiring him to pursue country music as a career.

Cody Johnson’s sound equipment malfunctioned during a show in Fort Worth, Texas, so he improvised with theme songs.  He did a little “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” . . . and then “The Beverly Hillbillies”.  Somebody got it on video.

Darius Rucker performed “Beers and Sunshine” on Saturday’s Grand Ole Opry.  “Opry Live” has released video of the whole show, which also features Lauren Alaina and Dustin Lynch.

Toby Keith passed away in February of last year, but his memory is still going strong.  Not only in country music, but in the world of horse racing as well. If you didn’t know, one of Toby Keith’s dreams was to get a horse to race in the Kentucky Derby.   And even though he’s not around…
