This weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” season finale was also the finale for four of its major players: Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney. Kate started off the show with one of her classic alien abduction sketches, which ended with her character climbing back into a UFO for good. Before the door closed, she said, “Well, Earth, I love you. Thanks for letting me stay a while. Live from New York, it’s Saturday night.” Pete said his goodbye on “Weekend Update”. I appreciate ‘SNL’ always having my back and allowing me to work on myself and grow. Thank you to Lorne for never giving up on me or judging me, even when everyone else was, and for believing in me and allowing me to have a place that I could call home, with the memories that will last a lifetime. So, thank you guys.” Aidy also appeared on “Update”, alongside BOWEN YANG, playing their “trend forecaster” characters. At the end of the bit, Aidy got a kiss from her “best guys,” Bowen and MICHAEL CHE.
Even though they were already officially married, KOURTNEY KARDASHIAN and TRAVIS BARKER had their ceremony yesterday at the Dolce & Gabbana estate in Portofino, Italy. Surprisingly, the attire was pretty traditional. Travis wore a black tux and Kourtney wore white . . . although her “gown” was basically a minidress with a long train. Bridesmaids included Kourtney’s daughter Penelope Disick, and Travis’ daughters Alabama Barker and Atiana De La Hoya. Kourtney’s sisters and their mom were all there, and so were Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox . . . plus Travis’ Blink-182 bandmate Mark Hoppus. ANDREA BOCELLI performed.
BRITNEY SPEARS got called out on her latest nude post. It seems pretty obvious that she Photoshopped it, because you can see the door she’s leaning on is warped near her belly.
The villain of the new “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” movie is an old, disgruntled Peter Pan who’s upset about being fired. People are upset because the guy who voiced Peter in the ’50s supposedly got fired from Disney when he grew up, and ended up dying from drugs when he was 31.
CARRIE UNDERWOOD was supposed to be on last night’s “American Idol” but she couldn’t because of COVID exposure. A member of her crew was exposed, so, due to protocols, she wasn’t allowed to perform. Carrie wrapped her Vegas residency on Saturday, so it’s possible the exposure happened there. Also – Carrie made a bride-to-be’s night at one of those Vegas shows. The girl’s name is Nicole, and it was her bachelorette party, so Carrie invited her up to the stage to join her on “All-American Girl”. In a video making the rounds Nicole admits she can’t sing, and then proves it. But she sang her heart out and Carrie gave her huge props for it. By the way, in case you missed this Vegas run, you’ll have another chance. Carrie shared a pic of her two little boys wearing Reflection jackets, and she captioned it, “We’ll be back! #2023.”
RONNIE DUNN Tweeted out the release date of his new album. Quote, “Excited to announce my new album ‘100 Proof Neon’ [is] out July 29th.”
Somebody was shot while JAMESON RODGERS was performing at SpringFest in Batesville, Mississippi on Saturday. It was a disagreement between two people who knew each other, and the victim was treated for a gunshot wound. Jameson was on his last song when it happened, and he was asked to leave the stage. Batesville is his hometown, so he posted a video thanking police for their quick response and for keeping everyone safe.
WALKER HAYES’ breakout was one of last year’s best stories. And in a recent interview, he puts the credit where he believes the credit is due. “To be quite frank, I don’t think there’s anything else worth sharing than what Jesus has done with me and the redemption I’ve experienced here on earth, and will continue to experience from knowing Him. That’s it
51 year old JOHN DRISKELL HOPKINS . . . who is a founding member of the Zac Brown Band . . . has shared news in a video posted on the band’s Instagram . . . “I have tough news to share. [Over] the past several years, I have noticed some balance issues and some stiffness in my hands. After careful analysis by some of the country’s top neurologists, I have been diagnosed with ALS. “Because my symptoms have been slow progressing from the start, we believe they will continue to be slow progressing going forward. God willing, I plan to be rocking with these amazing people for many years to come.” In the video he was followed by ZAC BROWN who asked fans to donate to Hop on a Cure, which is a charity that Hopkins founded to help fight the disease. You can find out more at Hop-on-a-Cure.org.
