Carrie Underwood Drops Motivational New Video for “The Champion”

Carrie Underwood’s anthemic song, “The Champion,” was featured in coverage of both Super Bowl 52 and the 2018 Winter Olympics, so it’s fitting that Carrie’s new video for the tune is chock-full of inspirations moments from the sporting world.

“When we were writing ‘The Champion,’ our main focus was to celebrate athletes at the top of their game, but we also wanted the song to resonate with people in their everyday lives,” says Carrie. “We hope the lyrics will inspire people to push themselves beyond their limits to conquer anything they are trying to accomplish or overcome. There’s a champion in every single one of us!”

Carrie co-penned the song with Brett James, Chris DeStefano and Ludacris, who also provided vocals for the new song.

Carrie’s new video features clips of professional athletes, including her hockey-playing husband Mike Fisher, pro surfer Bethany Hamilton, UFC champion Amanda Nunes and more. There are also clips of iconic moments from history featured, including the moon landing and footage of the civil rights movement.
