Martina McBride Helps Out Young Mothers In Need With Baby Shower

Martina McBride and Team Music Is Love, Martina’s global charity initiative dedicated to making the world better through the power of music, joined forces on Thursday (March 9) to throw a baby shower for young mothers who reside at the Covenant House, a homeless youth center, in New York City.

Martina spent the day with the mothers, treated them to lunch and invited the staff and moms to her Love Unleashed show that same evening. With help from Huggies Diapers, First Quality, and Cuties Diapers, Martina was able to supply baby essentials to all the new mothers in the house. Each mother received a gift bag full of bath supplies, books, and toys. The “Reckless” singer took to Instagram to share her special day.

“Such a special day with the moms, toddlers, and babies at Covenant House in NYC,” Martina posted about the shower. “@teammusicislove threw them a baby shower. Thanks to all the TMIL volunteers and to @Huggies No Baby Unhugged and Cuties for the diapers and @olivegarden for providing lunch. Scroll through to see all the photos!”

Team Music Is Love has been responsible for fundraising and volunteer projects helping causes such as hunger relief, cancer research, combating domestic violence and helping children in need. For more information and to become a part of Martina’s team visit TeamMusicIsLove.com.
