Miranda Lambert Cancels Three Shows Due to Vocal Strain; Announces “The Weight Of These Wings” Out Nov. 18

Miranda Lambert has been forced to cancel the final three dates on her Keeper of the Flame Tour due to vocal strain. The singer was set to wrap the tour in Texas on Sept. 15–17 with opening acts Kip Moore and Brothers Osborne, but according to a Live Nation press release, Miranda has been placed on “mandated vocal rest.” Miranda’s website confirmed that the dates have been cancelled with no word on whether on not they will be rescheduled.

The Keeper of the Flame Tour kicked off on April 30 in Austin, Texas, and Miranda also joined Kenny Chesney on select dates of his Spread the Love Tour, so it’s understandable that Miranda may need a little vocal rest now.

The following dates of the tour have been cancelled:
Sept. 15: Corpus Christi, Texas
Sept. 16: Austin, Texas
Sept. 17: San Antonio

On top of that, Miranda has just announced that her next album —sixth studio album and first in two years— will be called The Weight of These Wings, and will be released on Nov. 18. The album will of course feature Miranda’s latest single, “Vice” and will be produced by 3 of Nashville’s finest, Frank Lidell, Glen Worf and Eric Masse.

Without a word, Miranda simply tweeted a video of herself writing the album title and release date in a notebook. Considering she is on vocal rest, it’s best that she doesn’t speak about it.
