Dierks Bentley’s Beloved Dog, Jake, Passes Away

Our condolences go out to Dierks Bentley and his family who are mourning the loss of Dierks’ best friend, his dog Jake.

Jake, who was battling cancer, was a constant companion of Dierks’— accompanying the star to red carpet events, the Grand Ole Opry, on stage performances, interviews at the Nash Country Daily offices and even appearing in Dierks’ first video, “What Was I Thinkin.'”

Dierks also referenced his pal in the song “Can’t Be Replaced,” found on his latest album, Black.

“For 15 years / right by my side / From a single man to three kids and a wife / Friends come and go / but when it comes to Jake / There’s just some things that can’t be replaced,” Dierks sings about his dog.

In remembrance of the precious pup, Dierks posted a farewell to his pal on Twitter Sunday (July 10):

Here are some of our favorite photos of Jake over the years. Our thoughts are with Dierks and his family at this sad time.
