VVA Chapter 131 of Berks County is organizing its second annual “Celebrating Freedom” Golf Outing to be held on Sunday September 12, 2010, at Arrowhead Golf Course, on Weavertown Road, Douglassville, PA. Shotgun Tee-Off 9:30 AM (rain or shine). $75.00 per golfer: includes 18 holes, cart fees, food and prizes. Hole in one wins new car donated by Haldeman Ford Lincoln Mercury of Kutztown. 24th Annual Middle Creek Wildfowl Show (Free to the public)

The Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area – 2.2 miles south of Kleinfeltersville on Hopeland Road in Lancaster County will hold its 24th ANNUAL MIDDLE CREEK WILDFOWL SHOW. The event will be held on September 18th & 19th from 9am – 5pm each day. Admission is free, but donations are graciously accepted. This year, donations will benefit the Wildlands Preservation Fund to preserve wild lands. The show features over 30 wildfowl carvers and artists. Retriever demonstrations will be at 10am and 12noon on Saturday, and at 11am and 1pm on Sunday. Two different retriever clubs will display their dogs’ abilities, both with water retrievals, and upland retrievals. Decoy competitions will be held at 1pm with the winners announced at 4pm on Saturday. Duck and Goose Calling Contests will be held starting at 2pm Sunday. Every year we run our Create-A-Chili Pepper campaign through Sept. ending the last day with our Donate Profits Day.
